INTerior designer i
Responsibilities:
Supporting and assisting in developing overall furnishing layouts for residential, contract projects under senior designer and/or architect.
Supporting senior designer in selecting fixtures and finishes. Researches and collects details for furniture and finish cost estimates, compiles pricing from manufactures and representatives.
Ability to collaborate with design team to develop and execute design ideas.
Assists in field surveying of project spaces and assists senior staff with verification of site details to support design intent.
Under design supervision, prepare Concept Design presentations including rendered plans, section elevations, Color/Material boards, and furniture/fixture/accessories selections using Adobe Photoshop, Sketch-Up, Adobe InDesign, Enscape, and AutoCad programs.
Work independently to render detailed floor plans and detailed elevations for senior team, when necessary.
Conduct product resource selection for ongoing and future projects. Assist in developing furnishing, color and material boards, including materials, fabric, and imagery.
Produce specifications for all aspects of ongoing projects (Project Manual using Design Spec) with the Project Manager.
Preparing and assisting in coordinating construction drawings between senior designers, architects, and multiple consultants. Ability to redline and produce construction details.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or in a closely related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Familiarity with space planning methodology
Construction Documents
Working knowledge of the range of design principles and aesthetics
Using AutoCAD, Photoshop, Revit, Rhino, Sketch-up, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Enscape to create construction documents, 3D sketches/renderings, and client presentations.
Using Sketch-up, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop to design hand sketch case work and vignette scenes, hand color, and render interior drawings, area take-offs, and shop drawings.
Translating design concepts into building assemblies through the creation of construction documents using REVIT.
Familiarity with furnishings and finishes. Assemble FF&E and finish presentations using physical material samples, physical finish samples and photographic prints.
Writing FF&E and finish specifications using DesignSpec.
Using interior design concepts including space planning, furniture, fixtures, and product research to create and refine the overall conceptual design for a project.
Applying technical regulations and related code compliance, including ADA requirements and IBC building codes for permitting and construction purposes.
Knowledge of interior architecture detailing skills
Working knowledge of CDs and procedures
Basic presentation and graphic communication skills
